Music is Dead - Tristan Simone

Updated: May 20, 2020

January 1, 2020

Bertinelli Sound had the opportunity to fly to Los Angeles, California to record a song by Tristan Simone. It's called "Music Is Dead".

This is what Tristan has to say about the experience: "Mental Health has been a recurring issue amongst many of us in the Cast of Bella Madness. My own story with depression has been a long and difficult one, but I've noticed that taking to music has always been my greatest help.

This song portrays a side of me I don't show often but I think it's time to share because it has allowed me to identify myself and who I am as an artist. My voice always cracks singing this record. We wanted to showcase that our music addresses a broad range of topics within Hip-Hop: from politics and mental health, to social justice and gay rights. What a journey it's been to be able to create music with some of my best friends Gaia Leone (on Bass) and Riccardo Gresino (on Keys).

They both added so much flavor and color to the song. Riccardo is an insane pianist who has the soul of a chameleon and Gaia is simply the queen of bass who baffles the world with her heart. How lucky I am to be able to count with Leonardo Bertinelli being there for us not only musically but in every level of the bromance spectrum. He produced, engineered and co-arranged Music Is Dead. He deserves the world. I have nothing but eternal gratitude and love for you incredible people, friends who believe in me and our project every day.

To everyone dealing with mental health issues, you are not alone. There are resources all around us ready to help, all you have to do is speak up. I hope you join me in sharing this video on your socials. We're working extremely hard on this album and we are all very excited to share it with you soon! Thank you to my friends, family and the Berklee College of Music community for giving us the resources and platforms to share our art with the world. Thank you Marco for blessing us with your spirit and thank you to Stagg Street Studio for hosting us and treating us so well!

Recorded, mixed, mastered, produced by Leonardo Bertinelli at Stagg Street Studio.
